Alton Jackson, M.Ed. – Educator | Coach | Transformational School Leader

Alton Jackson is a passionate educator, devoted husband, and proud father of two sons, with over 25 years of dynamic experience in K-12 education. From the classroom to the front office, Alton has built a career centered on leadership, student growth, and transformational change.
His journey began with a single cold call—an unexpected opportunity that led to his first teaching position at the legendary David W. Carter High School in Dallas ISD. As a Special Education teacher and football/track coach, Alton spent nine formative years there, calling them “the best of my life.” It was during this time that he developed his foundational values of mentorship, leadership, and relationship-building.
Alton’s path eventually led him into administration, beginning as an assistant principal at an elementary school in Terrell, Texas. Since then, he has served in a range of influential roles:
- Campus leader
- District project manager for graduation
- 9th grade lead administrator at a 4,500-student, 300-staff high school
- Member of the leadership team at the most diverse high school in Texas
Known for his strategic thinking and hands-on leadership style, Alton has helped campuses earn multiple TEA distinctions, and has built systems that elevate both academic excellence and positive school culture.
Today, he serves as the proud Principal of Uplift Ascend Middle School, where he is leading a remarkable campus transformation. In just one year, the school has seen significant growth in student achievement, renewed staff morale, and a thriving culture grounded in high expectations and relentless support.
Alton’s motto is simple: “Move the Needle.” His mindset: Be relentless. Whether mentoring new leaders, speaking at education events, or leading school-wide change, he brings real talk, real experience, and real results. His journey is one of purpose, pivot, and passion—and he’s just getting started.
